An unforgettable fly fishing experience in the enchanting setting of the Aurino River. Discover the secrets to catching grayling and trout in this alpine river and plan your next adventure!
Yesterday, along with my friend Davide, I had an unforgettable fly fishing experience in the Aurino River, the heart of the Aurina Valley. The Dolomites, with their majestic presence, provided the backdrop for this day dedicated to our passion for fishing.
Ideal conditions for nymph fishing Despite the water levels being higher than expected, the crystal-clear color and the slight veil of snowmelt created ideal conditions for nymph fishing. The strong currents hosted numerous sizable grayling, which we tackled with heavy nymphs. The first few hours of fishing were intense, with numerous catches and exciting fights.
An unexpected surprise: the trout Later in the day, we were in for a surprise: the catches of trout exceeded those of grayling. A fascinating anomaly that once again demonstrates how fly fishing is always full of surprises. After the fishing was over, we had dinner at the Gassl restaurant in Klausen, with good beer and meat. The nymph Olivetta was the best nymph for me.
Why choose the Aurino for fly fishing? The Aurino is a must-visit destination for fly fishing enthusiasts. Its crystal-clear waters, teeming with life, offer a unique fishing experience. Moreover, the Aurina Valley is a natural paradise, perfect for those who want to combine their passion for fishing with the discovery of breathtaking landscapes.
