Plan B, An exclusive excursion to Alpe di Villandro with breathtaking views of the Dolomites and a choice between lunch at a mountain hut or a craft brewery.
When river conditions don’t allow us to fish, I have an alternative in store that combines the peace of nature with one of the most all-encompassing panoramas of the Dolomites: a day on the Alpe di Villandro (Villanderer Alm). Less crowded than other plateaus, Villandro is a true panoramic balcony, a place where your gaze can wander 360° across all the most famous peaks.
The experience is designed for maximum relaxation: the walks here are easy, on wide paths with very little elevation change, making them suitable for everyone. I will accompany you to the plateau, where you will be free to explore at your own pace, immersed in silence and beauty.

The Culinary Choice: Two Paths of Taste
To complete the day, you can choose between two different gastronomic experiences, both authentic and of high quality.
- OPTION 1: Authentic Mountain Hut Lunch
- The Experience: After our walk, we will stop for lunch at one of the best traditional mountain huts (malghe) on the Alm. This is a total immersion in the alpine atmosphere, where we will enjoy the genuine flavors of mountain cuisine—from Tyrolean dumplings (canederli) and speck to local cheeses and homemade cakes—in a rustic and welcoming setting.
- Ideal for: Those seeking a traditional experience and wanting to remain immersed in the nature and tranquility of the high plateau.
- OPTION 2: Craft Beer & Grill in Chiusa
- The Experience: At the end of our panoramic walk, we will descend into the valley towards the town of Chiusa (Klausen) for a different and highly satisfying lunch break. We will be guests at the Gassl Bräu Brewery, a trusted partner of mine. Here you can taste their excellent craft beers, brewed on-site, and enjoy outstanding dishes, from local specialties to high-quality meats. My personal recommendation is their exceptional Angus beef skewer.
- Ideal for: Those who love to combine nature with a convivial gastronomic experience and for enthusiasts of craft beer and grilled food.
